Our Story

Growing up on dairy farms in Pennsylvania and Maryland laid the foundation for our deep connection to agriculture. As a couple, we ventured into dairy farming for eight years after tying the knot, nurturing a small farm of our own. Upon relocating out west, we embraced milking goats as a side venture, appreciating their affordability and the joy of providing our family with raw milk. Crafting fresh goat cheese became a rewarding endeavor, allowing us to share our creations.

Nurturing a farm in the tranquil countryside was the perfect setting to raise our family. Animals became integral to our lives, not only within our own menagerie but also in caring for others. The dream of returning to milking cows persisted, prompting us to transition from goats to a beloved Jersey cow. Despite her initial lameness, our care and affection were reciprocated with creamy, delightful milk. Eventually, we had to make the difficult decision to bid farewell, but this marked the beginning of a journey with six healthy Jerseys.

With four of our ten children still at home, working alongside us and our son-in-law, the dream of a small dairy farm unfolded. These Jerseys have surpassed our expectations, gifting us rich butter, soft cheeses, sour cream, and more. Golden Rule Dairy emerged from the desire to share this goodness with others.

Our priority is simple yet profound: providing fresh, unprocessed milk, just as the cows give it to us and the way we serve it to our families. A small dairy farm with healthy, happy cows has become the realization of our dreams, fostering a clean environment for our family to work together. This endeavor not only brings a sense of accomplishment but also satisfaction in producing exceptional, healthy raw milk while ensuring the well-being of our contented animals. Working together as a family in pursuit of something we all enjoy is a privilege, and we strive to offer the freshest, creamiest, and most delicious raw milk to all who share in our passion. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has played a part in making this dream possible!
